Version 4.6 Signals First Round of Upcoming Releases to Help SoapUI Users to Align with a more Pragmatic REST Approach

Beverly, Mass. – Sept. 17, 2013 –  SmartBear Software, provider of software quality tools used by more than one million developers and testers worldwide, is reinforcing its support for REST API testing with SoapUI 4.6. The new version of the popular open source tool, with over one million users worldwide, directly answers user requests to simplify REST API testing using SoapUI. The latest version also aligns the SoapUI community with a more pragmatic REST approach.

“With this version, SmartBear is delivering what the SoapUI users have been asking for - easier testing of REST APIs,” said Matti Hjelm, Product Owner of SoapUI, SmartBear Software. “Getting started with this new version 4.6 is now much simpler and faster. In addition, it realigns the SoapUI community with strong support for the more pragmatic REST Approach.”

This is the first major release to include a wide range of testing capabilities for REST APIs used in a majority of public APIs for Web applications. Together, they shorten learning curves, improve time-to-market and help to easily identify more bugs. Essentially, the new version allows testers to begin testing their REST-based applications faster and more effectively.

SoapUI 4.6 is the first product from a new SoapUI development team and signals the first of a range of new releases that aims to simplify REST API testing. More in-depth REST API testing support will be added in upcoming releases.

SoapUI is the most used API testing tool in the world. For more information or to download SoapUI 4.6, please visit http://www.experior.com.au/web-service-testing/soapui-pro.html
