Automation Professional Services Engineer - Contract

Skills and experience required:

We are seeking an experienced Professional Services Engineer to join our team in Melbourne or Sydney. The ideal candidate will have already worked 3 to 5 years as an IT administrator, software developer, or a software consultant. Specifically, this position requires experience working directly with our Enterprise clients in deploying Cloud and Continuous Delivery, deployment automation and release orchestration solutions that improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Enterprise IT processes, tasks, and infrastructure.

      
Responsibilities:

  • Consulting with customers to analyze and prioritize requirements
  • Design and position our technologies and capabilities to address those prioritized requirements
  • Collaborate with customers to develop project plans that include milestones
  • Lead a very effective and efficient implementation of automated technologies
  • Perform implementation and integration technical tasks
  • Develop and present technical reports on technologies and capabilities, advantages, and effectiveness based on implementation
  • Coordinate work across large teams and organizations to deliver working, scalable solutions on tight schedules leveraging Agile methodologies
  • Customize Electric Cloud best practices on deployment to customer's environment
  • Become our customer's trusted advisor
  • Lead troubleshooting efforts in customer environment
  • Take lead/monitor Customer Support cases


Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  •     Minimum of 3 to 5 years experience as an IT administrator, software release management, software developer or consultant involving Software Development Lifecycle Tools and Technologies (Commercial and Open Source)
  •     Solid understanding of product / service development lifecycle (design, build, test, release / deploy)
  •     If you have worked or are working as build release engineer to produce embedded software releases, this may set you above the rest.
  •     The ideal candidate has either worked with build environments and tools in the past or has an interest in doing so.
  •     Substantial automation experience with scripting languages (eg., Perl, Tcl/Tk, Bash).
  •     Good working knowledge in software development languages and tools (eg. C/C++, Java, C#, GNU Make, Visual Studio, Eclipse)
  •     Solid working knowledge diagnosing, troubleshooting of Linux and Windows systems.
  •     Outstanding problem-solving skills
  •     Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  •     Must be able to work from a home office
  •     Must be able to travel approximately 50% of the time (or more), however, the primary focus will be Sydney or Melbourne areas
  •     Good training and mentoring skills
  •     The ability to work with offshore clients in New Zealand from time to time
